Tipping Point

 It's been a weird week. It seems like there are a lot of things in my life currently that are in God's hands,  and they are at a tipping point between breakthrough and not going how I would like. I have no control over so many things, and I am having to trust in God's goodness and provision. This is a week of believing for breakthrough, but preparing myself to be okay if it doesn't happen.

God is reminding me to stay in the present. When you worry about the future, you miss what's right in front of you. Even if every single thing that I am believing in faith for doesn't turn out how I want, God is still sovereign and I'll be okay. Find the joy in each day, because God is good! He has good things for you every day, no matter what is going on, no matter what you are uncertain about. Take the changes as they come, and trust that God knows what he's doing.


We have seen SO much breakthrough with the Liberty over the last month. We finally got our dry dock date, our engineer's paperwork to travel to PNG has been approved, and he's currently on his way there! We've also had financial breakthrough when it comes to things we've needed to purchase for the ship, like a new water maker, or a device that will allow us to diagnose TB in the field. Things are moving forward in a way they never have before, and I am confident that the Liberty will sail in 2021!

I am still hoping to travel to Papua New Guinea in May, as we want to start our outreaches in June. It relies heavily, however, on Covid restrictions. It's difficult to get visas for PNG right now, and each person entering the country needs approval from the government and must quarantine for 2 weeks at their own expense. Medical volunteers can't come for a two week outreach with those types of conditions, so we need the restrictions to lift or to get an exemption in order for it to be possible. I don't currently see a way through, but I know God does, and so I'm operating in faith. 

I've been keeping myself busy with liaising with various potential donors of medical equipment, assisting with volunteer recruitment, as well as sourcing supplies that are going to be sent in our Oral Bible Translation (OBT) container in just a few short weeks! We plan to commission it at the University of the Nations campus this coming Friday. 


Things have really ramped up in the last few weeks, and we are so pumped about the momentum. As I said at the beginning, it feels like we're at a tipping point, and there is going to be a lot of spiritual pushback, but we need to pray it through so that many other things will fall into place!

- Smooth connections for our engineer Carlos as he travels to PNG from the UK
- Breakthrough in our PNG visa situation
- The worldwide Covid situation, that we would be able to re-start our outreaches!
- My heart. I need to do a lot of trusting God right now, and it is not easy.

 I just recently turned 31, and as I was praying about what would this year look like, and what does the Lord have for me in this year, I felt him explain to me that this past year had been inward; all about me: recovering from living overseas long-term, getting settled and rooted in a new place, and healing and growing. Two Days Until Launch!

 I can't believe it's already time! As I'm writing this, I fly out of Kona in 48 hours for a two month outreach, split between Papua New Guinea and Fiji.  Over the past three months or so I've been fundraising and preparing to go back to PNG and to serve onboard the YWAM Koha in Fiji. I have been so blessed to see the wild generosity of people around me, who support what I am doing and want to help me get there. I am so grateful for you! I got to go home in June to visit family! The last couple months I have been leading the Fleet support office while my ministry leader Conrad has been away. It has been super stretching to be in a position where I need to lead team members spiritually, as well as make decisions and communicate with volunteers onboard the ship as well as with upper management at the base. There and Back Again

 It's hard to believe that I've been back from my outreach for over a month already! Time really flies.  Just in case you missed it: I took a team of nurses from Kona to Papua New Guinea at the end of August, and joined our medical outreaches happening there for two weeks. After that I flew to Fiji, where I joined the YWAM Koha (a vessel operated out of New Zealand), and served as a nurse and supported their clinic leaders for five weeks! It was such an incredible time spent in PNG. I was really nervous to go back, because of how things had gone last time, being so difficult and covid restrictions, etc., but I feel like the Lord really redeemed my time there, and I felt the joy of the ministry and the love for PNG that I had first had when I joined staff in 2019, and I was actually sad to leave and only be there for ten days.  It was such a precious time of connecting with the staff there and encouraging them, building relationships and blessing the people through the medical c
