Big Things are Happening!
This year we have seen so much momentum start to build. Finances coming in, volunteers going to Madang to serve, important partnerships being made. It has all been culminating to the massive breakthrough that we had this week!
To start off with, our medical team in Madang travelled safely up to Mount Hagen in the Highlands, where we are partnering with the local hospital and doing cataract surgeries! This is the first eye surgery outreach we have been able to do since I was there in 2019. It took so much effort and planning and coordinating for it to happen, and we are so grateful to God that he opened the doors for that!
The Liberty is going into the dry dock TODAY. We have been praying, planning, and working towards this for two and a half years, and now it is finally happening! I can hardly believe it; it doesn't seem real. I am so grateful to God, and how he taught me to persevere, and that now I get to see the fruits of that labour. We are hopeful that the ship will land in Madang in early 2023!
I get to go on whirlwind adventures! I recently was able to travel to Orange County, CA, to exhibit at a medical missions conference. We hosted a booth at the exhibitor's hall, and shared about what we do, and inviting medical professionals to come join us. On Tuesday I'll be flying to Kentucky to do it again. It's such a fun opportunity to be able to network with other medical missions organizations and meet people who are also passionate about medical missions!
STATS! Despite not having an operating vessel, we were able to complete TWELVE medical outreaches this year! Volunteers ranged from DTS students to nurses to dentists and doctors, and now an ophthalmologist! I personally assisted in mobilizing 68 volunteers to Papua New Guinea, and our medical teams saw over 1600 patients and provided over 3000 medical services!
God has been so faithful this year, and I just feel so blessed to be able to participate in his abundance! I want to thank each and every one of my faithful partners who have prayed for me and my ministry, and who have supported me financially, and walked with me through this journey. This is a big win for all of us!
I'll be in Calgary for Christmas from December 16-January 2, so if you'd like to meet up and hear more about what God is doing in Kona and Papua New Guinea, please reach out! I'd love to chat with you!
